Legal
Privacy policy.
Effective date: 1 October 2026. This policy explains what personal data 36 BOR LTD. collects through this website, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
36 BOR LTD. ("36 BOR", "we", "us") is an independent branding and design studio. Our registered and trading address is 36 Bury Old Road, Prestwich, Manchester, M25 0FT, England. The studio is led by director Lez Leitner. You can reach us at any time at studio@36bor.co.uk.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, 36 BOR LTD. is the data controller for the personal data processed through this website.
What data we collect
Direct emails. If you email us — including project enquiries sent to studio@36bor.co.uk — we receive your name, email address, and whatever else you choose to include in your message. We use this solely to respond to you and, if we end up working together, to run the project. We never add enquirers to a marketing list without asking first.
Server logs. Like almost every website, the server hosting this site automatically records technical details of each visit: your IP address, browser type and version, the pages requested, the time of the request, and the referring page where available. These logs are used for security monitoring and diagnosing faults, and are never used to identify individual visitors for marketing.
Cookies and local storage. This site stores a single consent choice in your browser's local storage when you answer the cookie banner, under the key "bor36-consent". Depending on the choice you make, third-party cookies may also be set — see "Cookie and advertising usage" below and our cookie policy for the full picture.
Contact form. The project outline form on our contact page does not transmit or store your entries anywhere. It exists to help you shape an email; nothing you type into it leaves your browser.
Cookie and advertising usage
We use cookies and browser storage only with your consent, as recorded by the banner that appears on your first visit. One exception: advertising cookies set by Microsoft Advertising may apply where ads are shown, as described in our advertising policy. Non-personalised ads may still use limited cookies for frequency capping and fraud prevention.
Embedded Google Maps
Our contact page embeds a Google Maps map so you can find the studio. When the map loads, your browser connects directly to Google, and Google may set its own cookies and process data about your visit (including your IP address) according to Google's privacy policy. The map only loads once you reach that part of the page, and you are never required to interact with it.
Microsoft Advertising
We may display advertising served by Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads). If ads are shown, Microsoft may use cookies and similar technologies to serve, measure and — where you have consented — personalise those ads. Details of what Microsoft collects, and how to opt out, are set out in our advertising policy and in Microsoft's privacy statement.
How long we keep data
Emails and project correspondence are kept for as long as the relationship lasts and for up to six years afterwards where needed for legal, tax or accounting reasons. Server logs are retained for no more than twelve months. The local storage consent record remains in your browser until you clear it or use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer to remove it.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:
- Access — ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data where there is no good reason for us to keep it.
- Restriction and objection — ask us to limit how we use your data, or object to particular uses.
- Portability — ask for your data in a structured, commonly used format.
To exercise any of these rights, email studio@36bor.co.uk and we will respond within one month. You will never be charged, and we will never penalise you for asking.
You also have the right to complain to the UK's supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first, but you can contact the ICO at any time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if the way the site works changes or the law changes. The version on this page always shows the current policy, with its effective date at the top. If we make a significant change, we will note it here.
